- About 30% inside your market, plus periodic team meetings
You live in this market, or you are in it on a regular cadence.
Role
You hold Maya's relationships with the grocery, mass, club, convenience and fuel retailers whose commercial decisions get made in your market. You work with their category, shopper marketing, fuel and retail media teams. Your job is to get household programs approved, funded, in market and measured, and to close every period clean.
This role is on the partnerships team. You work with the retailers and brands those households already shop.
Responsibilities
- •Build and run annual and quarterly joint business plans with each retailer in your market
- •Own the fund position across your book: accrued, committed, spent and remaining, reconciled every period with no overspend and no stranded balance
- •Map the buying points that matter: category, replenishment, shopper marketing, fuel, e-commerce and retail media
- •Present programs in retailer language: trip, basket, category growth, shopper mission and proof of performance
- •Secure prior approval and spend authority before a program goes live, and keep the documentation that releases the money
- •Coordinate how offers reach members who shop that chain, including grocery-attached fuel where the retailer runs it
- •Hold each retailer's operating calendar: line reviews, circulars, reset windows and media flights
- •Run pre- and post-event analysis on every funded program and carry the result into the next plan
- •Brief Maya's product and member-care teams so what runs matches what the retailer approved
- •Surface conflicts early, including exclusives, store-conditional funds and brand restrictions, before a program is sold
- •Maintain the account plan, contact map, fund position and forecast for every account in your market
Requirements
- •4+ years selling to or managing a major grocery, mass, club or convenience chain, in-house or at a national sales or shopper agency
- •You have owned a retailer P&L or a customer plan: distribution, promotion and a quarterly business review
- •You have carried a funded program from plan through period close without an overspend
- •You can work a category review and a shopper marketing meeting in the same week
- •Syndicated or retailer-panel data is familiar
- •Strong written updates. Short, specific, no deck for a status that needs a paragraph
Nice to have
- •Fuel, convenience or grocery-pharmacy experience in the same market
- •Retail media experience at a major chain's media arm
- •Bilingual English and Spanish where that is the working language of the account
