  • Financial information: Basic information needed to assess financing options (e.g., preferred monthly budget). We do not collect credit card numbers or bank account information directly — payments go through third-party processors.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our websites or interact with our services:

3.1 To Provide Maya's Services

4. How We Share Your Information

4.1 With Vendors and Partners (To Complete Referrals)

When you ask Maya to help you act on a recommendation — for example, to switch carriers or complete a device trade — we may share your contact and relevant account information with the third-party vendor to facilitate the transaction. Vendors receive only the information necessary to process your request.

4.2 With BNPL and Financing Partners

If you pursue a buy-now-pay-later or financing option through Maya, we'll share your contact information and relevant transaction details with the financing partner to enable the application and approval process.

4.3 With Service Providers

We work with service providers who help us operate Maya — including cloud infrastructure, SMS delivery (Telnyx), analytics, and customer support tools. These providers access your information only to perform services for Maya and are contractually required to protect it.

4.4 For Legal Reasons

We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or regulatory requirement — or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person, to address fraud or security issues, or to protect Maya's legal rights.

4.5 Business Transfers

If Maya is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We'll notify you if this occurs and any different privacy terms apply.

4.6 With Your Consent

We'll share your information with third parties in other cases when you explicitly direct us to or give us consent.

5. SMS Communications and TCPA

Because Maya is primarily an SMS service, your phone number and message content are central to how Maya works. Under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and related state laws:

  • We only send SMS messages to users who have opted in
  • You can opt out at any time by replying STOP
  • We maintain opt-out records and honor them promptly
  • We do not sell or rent your phone number to unaffiliated marketers
  • We will not share or sell your mobile information with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes

Message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply to Maya's messages. Maya is not responsible for your carrier's charges.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Specifically:

  • Account data: Retained until you request deletion or your account is closed
  • Message history: Retained for up to 24 months to support multi-turn conversations and recommendation history
  • Transaction data: Retained for 7 years to comply with legal and financial recordkeeping requirements
  • Analytics data: Aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely in anonymized form

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information:

7.1 Access and Portability

7.3 Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and personal data. Note that we may retain certain information as required by law (e.g., transaction records) or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention).

7.4 Opt-Out of SMS

Reply STOP to any Maya message to stop SMS communications.

7.5 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including:

Maya's recommendations may link you to third-party websites and services. This Privacy Policy doesn't apply to those third parties — review their own privacy policies before sharing information with them.

11. AI and Automated Decision-Making

Maya uses AI to generate recommendations. This means:

  • Your messages and account data are analyzed by machine learning models
  • Recommendations are generated algorithmically, not reviewed by a human before delivery
  • AI recommendations may occasionally be inaccurate or contextually inappropriate

You can always override any AI recommendation. If you have concerns about an AI-generated recommendation, contact [email protected].
