Maya AI Processing Policy
Last Updated: May 21, 2026
This policy describes how Maya uses automation and artificial intelligence. It is incorporated into our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Role of AI in Maya
Maya is a household buying assistant. When you use Maya, automated systems may:
- Interpret text and, where you use voice features, audio (after conversion to text)
- Generate replies, comparisons, and recommendations
- Produce synthetic voice output on supported channels
- Support fraud and abuse detection
You are always interacting with an automated system, not a human pretending to be Maya.
2. Technology Providers
Maya relies on independent service providers for hosting, messaging delivery, inference, speech processing, and related infrastructure. Those providers:
- Act on Maya's instructions
- Are bound by confidentiality and security obligations
- May not use your conversation content to train their general-purpose models except where you give Maya separate, explicit consent for that use
Maya may add, replace, or change providers over time within the same categories described in the Privacy Policy. We do not publish a running list of vendor or model names on our marketing site.
Current subprocessor list (EEA/UK and other rights): request via [email protected].
3. Data Processed by Automated Systems
Depending on how you use Maya, automated processing may involve:
- Message content you send Maya
- Device and plan details you provide
- Preferences and budgets you describe
- General location context you provide (e.g., for nearby offers)—not passive background tracking
- Prior interaction context needed for multi-turn conversations
See the Privacy Policy for full collection categories.
4. What Automated Systems Do Not Do
Maya's systems do not:
- Make purchases or sign contracts without your clear direction
- Access your bank, card, or brokerage accounts
- Sell your conversations to advertisers
- Share your message content with retailers or carriers for their marketing
5. Limitations
Automated output can be wrong, incomplete, or outdated. Prices and availability change—verify with the seller before you buy. Nothing Maya says is professional legal, medical, or financial advice.
6. Your Choices
Using Maya requires automation for core assistant features. If you do not want your messages processed by automated systems, do not use Maya's assistant channels.
You may:
- Request human review of a recommendation: [email protected]
- Opt out of de-identified / aggregated use for service improvement: [email protected], subject "Data Improvement Opt-Out"
- Exercise privacy rights in the Privacy Policy
EEA/UK: see jurisdiction-specific terms for automated decision-making rights.
7. Improvement and Retention
Maya may use de-identified or aggregated data to improve accuracy and reliability. Identifiable conversation content is not used to train third-party foundation models under our standard provider terms.
Message retention periods are in the Privacy Policy (currently up to 24 months unless you request deletion).
8. Oversight
Humans monitor Maya for safety, quality, and policy compliance. High-risk or unusual situations may be escalated for review.
Maya is designed to surface savings aligned with your stated preferences—not to pressure you into purchases you did not ask about.
9. Updates
We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated as described in the Privacy Policy.
