Last Updated: March 1, 2026
This statement is made by Maya Verdant, LLC ("Maya") in accordance with Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and applicable transparency in supply chains legislation. It covers Maya's financial year ending December 31, 2025.
Our Business
Maya Verdant, LLC is an AI-powered personal shopping concierge service operating primarily in the United States and Costa Rica, with users in additional international markets. Our business model is based on software services, AI processing, and digital referrals. We do not manufacture physical goods or operate physical facilities.
We employ a small remote team and engage independent contractors in software development, operations, and customer support roles.
Our Commitment
Maya is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all of our business relationships. We have a zero-tolerance policy for modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labor, and child labor in our business and supply chain.
Our Supply Chain
Maya's supply chain is primarily digital, consisting of:
- Cloud infrastructure and hosting providers (e.g., Vercel, cloud platform providers)
- AI and machine learning services (Anthropic, OpenAI)
- Telecommunications services (Telnyx)
- Business software and SaaS tools (CRM, analytics, communication platforms)
- Independent contractors providing software development and operational support
These are primarily technology companies operating in developed economies with established labor laws and compliance programs. We assess the risk of modern slavery in this supply chain to be low.
Our Policies and Due Diligence
Policies: Maya's internal Code of Conduct prohibits any involvement with forced labor, child labor, or human trafficking. All staff and contractors are made aware of this policy during onboarding.
Supplier selection: Where we engage new suppliers and contractors, we conduct appropriate due diligence to assess compliance with applicable labor laws. For higher-risk engagements, we may request evidence of compliance policies.
Reporting: Any person (staff, contractor, or third party) who suspects modern slavery in Maya's operations or supply chain is encouraged to report it immediately to [email protected]. We will investigate all reports and, where appropriate, report to relevant authorities.
Training and Awareness
Maya educates its team members on identifying and reporting modern slavery risks as part of our compliance program.
Effectiveness
Maya reviews this statement annually and updates our approach as the business grows and as regulatory requirements evolve.
