Canada โ Additional Terms
These additional terms apply to users whose primary location is in Canada. They supplement and, in the event of any conflict, take precedence over the Maya Terms of Service.

Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without reference to conflicts of law principles.
Both parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts of the Superior Court of Ontario, Toronto for any disputes arising out of or relating to this agreement that are not resolved through arbitration.
Nature of Agreement
This agreement is a contract for the provision of services and not a contract for the sale of goods. The provisions of the Personal Property Security Act (Ontario), or any substantially similar legislation enacted by the federal government of Canada or any province, do not apply to this agreement.
Arbitration for Canadian Users
The arbitration clause in Section 18 of the Terms of Service applies to Canadian users to the extent permitted by Canadian law. Where arbitration is not permitted under applicable provincial consumer protection law for a particular type of dispute, those disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario as described above.
Privacy โ PIPEDA and Provincial Privacy Laws
Federal (PIPEDA): Maya complies with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA, S.C. 2000, c. 5). You have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal information. Contact [email protected] to exercise these rights.
Quebec โ Law 25: Residents of Quebec have additional rights under An Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information (Law 25). This includes the right to be informed of automated decision-making, the right to data portability, and the right to request de-indexing of certain personal information.
British Columbia: BC residents' rights are governed by the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA, SBC 2003, c. 63) in addition to PIPEDA.
Alberta: Alberta residents' rights are governed by the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA, SA 2003, c. P-6.5) in addition to PIPEDA.

Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)
Maya complies with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL, S.C. 2010, c. 23). You will only receive commercial electronic messages (including SMS) from Maya if you have provided express or implied consent in accordance with CASL.
You can withdraw consent at any time by:
- Replying STOP to any Maya SMS message
- Emailing [email protected] with "Unsubscribe" in the subject line
Withdrawal of consent takes effect within 10 business days as required by CASL.
Official Languages
Maya's primary service language is English. Residents of Quebec may request service in French by contacting [email protected].
Trade Controls Compliance
You agree to comply with all applicable export control laws and regulations administered by the Canadian Trade Controls Bureau and any applicable Canadian sanctions programs.
Consumer Protection
Your rights under applicable provincial consumer protection legislation are not waived by these Terms. In particular:
- Ontario: Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (S.O. 2002, c. 30, Sched. A)
- British Columbia: Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act (SBC 2004, c. 2)
- Alberta: Fair Trading Act (RSA 2000, c. F-2)
- Quebec: Consumer Protection Act (CQLR c. P-40.1)
Where mandatory consumer protection provisions conflict with these Terms, those provisions apply.
Conflict Resolution
In the event of any conflict between these Canada additional terms and Maya's main Terms of Service, these additional terms control for Canadian users.
