How do I send Maya a Trader Joe's receipt?

Trader Joe's keeps things deliberately simple. There are no loyalty programs or membership cards to swipe, no app, and no online purchase history. The paper receipt from the register is the only copy that exists, so here is how to get it to Maya:

1. Take the paper receipt at checkout and hang on to it. Trader Joe's cannot look one up for you afterward.
2. Photograph it before it ends up crumpled in a bag. The sooner the better.
3. Lay it flat somewhere well lit and get the whole receipt in frame. If it is long, fold it and take two photos rather than one blurry one.
4. Check that the store name, the date, the item lines, and the total are all readable.
5. Email it to [email protected], one attachment per email. You can also text the photo to (888) 751-MAYA (6292).
6. Send it from the email address on your Maya account. That address is how Maya knows the message is yours.

Trader Joe's does not sell through third-party delivery apps either, so there is no order history anywhere to fall back on. If you have already lost the receipt, that trip is gone, but the next one is easy.
